Green Planet South Sudan

Green Planet South Sudan (GPSS) is a non-profit organization established in 2018 to progress the health of the environment. Headquartered in Juba, GPSS works with communities, government authorities, farmers, women, young people, and schools to reduce deforestation, restore degraded land, improve livelihoods, and strengthen public health.
Leading an inclusive and developed South Sudan through inclusive humanitarian and development actions. GPSS mobilizes communities for environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, public health, WASH, agriculture, and livelihood initiatives that help people protect their environment while improving their lives.
To be a leading inclusive humanitarian and development organization in South Sudan, known for practical environmental restoration, accountable community partnerships, and sustainable development that benefits present and future generations.

What We Do?

Integrated programs for people and the planet

We train communities on climate change mitigation, tree planting, forest protection, and practical ways to reduce deforestation.

Agriculture & Livelihoods

We empower farmers with skills in production, seed multiplication, preservation, value addition, and marketing.

Public Health

We support awareness on disease prevention, sanitation, and solid and liquid waste management in communities.

WASH

We train women and families on hygiene, sanitation, and income-generating skills such as soap and detergent production.

Plastic Waste Management

We run awareness campaigns on the dangers of plastic waste and better community waste handling practices.

We work with government and community leaders to secure restoration sites and build local ownership of protected areas.
